The Tecnopolo will host a number of institutions (including agencies of the Emilia-Romagna region, research institutes, universities etc.) as well as research labs working on several technology platforms.

Indeed, the international Data Center of CINECA and the National Institute for Nuclear Physics will be hosted at the Tecnopolo and the same goes for Leonardo, the supercomputer for high performance computing that belongs to the European Commission.

Moreover, the Tecnopolo also hosts the data centre of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).

The new National Agency for meteorology and climatology (ItaliaMeteo) will also be hosted at the former Tobacco Factory, thus shaping Bologna’s Tecnopolo into a major European research hub on climate change.
