The objective is to increase the language skills and cross-cultural competence of the Alma Mater community. This will entail the following actions:

  • increasing the opportunities for students to develop language skills through teaching foreign languages (ULCAM project) to students who are enrolled on courses not affiliated to the Languages and Literature or Translation and Interpretation departments
  • supporting international degree programmes that provide classes primarily in English, with a high number of foreign students (EMI project)
  • supporting the technical and administrative staff who use foreign languages in their dealings with the public or with international interlocutors (Alphabet project)
  • increasing the number of people with certified language skills in the University community
  • creating synergies between those who deal with cross-cultural aspects in the areas of research, teaching and the third mission of the Alma Mater, and consolidatinge practices in order to support diversity within the Alma Mater community
