The Library System owns a massive collection ancient volumes, manuscripts, collections that document the activities of Alma Mater’s illustrious academics: precious archive materials linked to the history of the University. In particular, the Bologna University Library (BUB) conserves materials of enormous historical and symbolic significance, such as the first complete scroll found of the Torah in Hebrew. These materials need to be mapped for consultation by researchers and users, with the opportunity to gain access to the most significant items, both in an appropriate display format and in electronic form. BUB will then become an advantaged access point to the historical memory of the University, linking with the Historical Archive.
