Industrial research is an activity that has a direct and effective impact on society and the territory, representing in addition one of the most significant areas of funding for many of our researchers. In order to promote and support industrial research, the University intends to:

  • develop a University strategy, alongside the initiatives of individual group or departments, in order to more effectively support regional policies, action at national and European level, and the intersection with principal innovation networks
  • establish a central organisation in support of the industrial research strategy, promote internal competences and facilitate cooperation agreements with regional, national and international operators, releasing the synergies among research, education and the third mission
  • implement a strategy for the relaunch and expansion of the CIRI (interdepartmental centres for industrial research), integrating their activities more closely with the departments concerned
  • encourage and promote start-ups and spin-offs, facilitating the development of a favourable ecosystem
  • simplify and improve the management of intellectual and industrial property.
