The University promotes and develops new projects for education (first-, second- and third-cycle degree programmes) and research (infrastructure, public-private partnerships and centres) in sectors defined as specific contexts in the Strategic Plan:

- Agriculture and food
- Sustainability and the circular economy
- Arts and humanities in the digital era
- Inter-culturalism, inclusion and social security.
Plus two cross-disciplinary contexts:
- Big data & Industry 4.0
- Creativity.
